ECCO Concert 2026

Selected Works Announced

The twentieth edition of the European Contemporary Composers Orchestra (ECCO) Concert will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 10 October 2026 at Koncertkirken Blågårds Plads. 

Organised by the European Composer and Songwriter Alliance (ECSA) and performed by Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen under the direction of Susanne Blumenthal, ECCO is ECSA’s flagship project for contemporary art music, dedicated to showcasing outstanding contemporary repertoire, promoting European composers, and fostering cross-border artistic collaboration.

This edition is organised with the support of Creative Europe, and in partnership with Kyiv Contemporary Music Days (KCMD) and dissemination partner Art Music Denmark.

The programme will feature works by:

• Anna Arkushyna (Ukraine) – Let Nobody but the Room

• Adrian Mocanu (Ukraine) – Kiovia: esplorazioni delle tenebre

• Balázs Horváth (Hungarian Composer Union, Hungary) – quasi ciaccona metrica

• Sophie Lacaze (SNAC, France)  – Enough has been said 

• Otto Nuoranne (Society of Finnish Composers, Finland) – Vinous 

• Joss Smith (Danish Composers’ Society, Denmark) – Buttons Down the Back

The programme was selected by the ECCO Steering Committee, composed of Niilo Tarnanen, ECCO Chair (Finland / Society of Finnish Composers), Dušan Bavdek (Slovenia / Society of Slovene Composers), Irina Hasnaș (Romania / Union of Composers and Musicologists of Romania), and Pierre Thilloy (France / UNAC), together with Albert Saprykin and Kateryna Alymova (Ukraine / Kyiv Contemporary Music Days) and Mats Iversen Vangen (Denmark / Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen).
