Estampes

Ecrite en 2012 à l’intention de l’ensemble Tétraflûtes et de leur spectacle JikkenKôbô.ch, Estampes s’appuie sur une mélodie traditionnelle japonaise « Kuroda bushi » (chant de samourai) présentée au début de la pièce pour évoquer musicalement des estampes de Utagawa Hiroshige I (1797 – 1858) et Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797 – 1861).

Commissioned by the Tetraflutes ensemble for their show JikkenKôbô.ch, Estampes is based on a traditional Japanese melody « Kuroda bushi » (a samurai song) presented at the beginning of the piece to musically evoke prints by Utagawa Hiroshige I (1797 – 1858) and Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797 – 1861).
