« Het Lam Gods IV », est la 4e œuvre que Sophie Lacaze a écrite sur le célèbre triptyque « Het Lam Gods » (l’Agneau Mystique) des peintres flamands Hubert et Jan Van Eyck, aujourd’hui exposé à la Cathédrale Saint Bavon de Gand (Belgique).
Le retable, daté de 1432, est composé de 24 panneaux différents, dont vingt traitent de la thématique religieuse. Dans « Het Lam Gods IV », la compositrice traduit musicalement les atmosphères statiques, parfois solennelles et inspirées, dégagées par les panneaux de la partie supérieure du triptyque : Adam et Eve, les anges chanteurs et musiciens, Jean-Baptiste et Marie, et enfin le panneau central, Dieu, puis les panneaux de la partie inférieure : les pélerins, ermites, chevaliers du Christ et juges équitables, et enfin l’Agneau Mystique.
Composée pour quatuor à cordes et récitant.e (sur un texte d’Alain Carré), cette oeuvre est une adaptation de « Het Lam Gods III » pour quatuor de flûtes et récitant.e.

« Het Lam Gods IV » is the fourth work that Sophie Lacaze wrote about the famous triptych « Het Lam Gods » (the Mystic Lamb) by the Flemish painters Hubert and Jan Van Eyck, currently exhibited at the Cathedral Saint Bavon in Ghent (Belgium).
The altarpiece, dated 1432, consists of 24 different panels, twenty of which deal with religious themes. In « Het Lam Gods IV, » the composer musically translates the static atmospheres, sometimes solemn and inspired, released by the panels of the upper part of the triptych: Adam and Eve, the singing and musician angels, John the Baptist and Mary, and finally the central panel, God, followed by the panels of the lower part: the pilgrims, hermits, knights of Christ, and just judges, and finally the Mystic Lamb.
Composed for string quartet and narrator (based on a text by Alain Carré), this work is an adaptation of « Het Lam Gods III » for flute quartet and narrator.
