« Histoire sans paroles », initialement pour violon, violoncelle et piano, avait été composée par Sophie Lacaze lors d’un séjour en Australie en 2002. En 2024, Pascal Contet a proposé à la compositrice d’en réaliser un arrangement pour violon, violoncelle et accordéon.
La première partie de « Histoire sans paroles », essentiellement rythmique, évoque une danse rituelle. La seconde partie, lente et statique, s’inspire de l’immensité des paysages du bush australien écrasés par le soleil et la chaleur.

‘Histoire sans paroles’ (Story without words), originally for violin, cello and piano, was composed by Sophie Lacaze during a trip to Australia in 2002. In 2024, Pascal Contet asked the composer to transcribe it for violin, cello and accordion.
The first part of the work, essentially rhythmic, evokes a ritual dance. The second part, slow and static, is inspired by the immensity of the Australian bush landscapes overwhelmed by the sun and heat.
